PRIVACY POLICY — FILM BUDGETING

Last Updated: 28 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Film Budgeting (“the App”), developed by Prasad (“we,” “us,” or “our”), handles information when you use the App.

Film Budgeting is a native Android application designed to help filmmakers plan, calculate, analyze, compare, manage, and export film production budgets.

We respect your privacy. The core budgeting functionality is designed to operate locally on your Android device and does not require you to create an account or upload your budgets to our servers.

By using Film Budgeting, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Developer Information

App Name: Film Budgeting

Developer: Prasad

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how the App handles information, you may contact us using the email address above.

Film Budgeting allows you to enter information required to create and manage film production budgets.

Depending on how you use the App, this information may include:

  • Project name
  • Film type
  • Production scale
  • Runtime
  • Shoot days
  • Project notes
  • Department information
  • Budget requirements
  • Budget amounts
  • Rates
  • Quantities
  • Days
  • Months
  • Number of people
  • Units
  • Percentages
  • Contingency information
  • Cost status
  • Provisional cost information
  • Vendor or supplier names
  • Quote references
  • Quote dates
  • Budget assumptions
  • User-created notes
  • Budget versions
  • Budget scenarios
  • Budget comparison information
  • Budget change history
  • Profile information entered into the App, where applicable

This information is used to provide the budgeting and related functionality of the App.

3. How Your Budget Data Is Stored

Film Budgeting is designed as an offline-first application.

Your project and budgeting information is primarily stored locally on your Android device using the App's local database and storage mechanisms.

We do not operate a cloud-based budgeting database for Film Budgeting.

You do not need to create an account or log in to use the core budgeting features.

Your budget information is not routinely uploaded to servers operated by us.

Because your core budget data is stored locally, we generally cannot access your locally stored film budgets.

4. Budget Information and Confidentiality

Film budgets may contain commercially sensitive information, including:

  • Production costs
  • Cast costs
  • Crew costs
  • Vendor information
  • Quotations
  • Production assumptions
  • Location costs
  • Equipment costs
  • Post-production costs
  • VFX costs
  • Marketing costs
  • Other financial planning information

The App is designed to keep this information locally on your device.

However, you are responsible for protecting access to your Android device and for protecting exported files and backup files that you create.

We recommend that you do not share exported budget PDFs, CSV files, or backup files with people who should not have access to them.

5. Budget Versions, Scenarios and Change History

Film Budgeting may store locally on your device:

  • Saved budget versions
  • Budget snapshots
  • Budget scenarios
  • Scenario budget items
  • Budget comparisons
  • Budget change history

These features allow you to:

  • Preserve previous budget states
  • Compare different budget versions
  • Create alternative budget scenarios
  • Review budget changes
  • Restore previous budget versions

This information is stored locally as part of the App's budgeting data and is not uploaded to a cloud budgeting service operated by us.

6. Backup and Restore

Film Budgeting provides local backup and restore functionality.

When you choose to create a backup, the App may create a backup file containing your project and related budgeting information.

Depending on the App version and backup format, this may include:

  • Projects
  • Departments
  • Budget items
  • Budget versions
  • Version snapshots
  • Scenarios
  • Scenario items
  • Change history
  • Relevant project settings

The backup file is saved to a location selected by you through Android's file/document system.

We do not automatically upload your backup files to our servers.

You are responsible for protecting any backup file after it has been exported or saved outside the App.

If you store a backup using a third-party storage service, that service's own privacy policy and security practices will apply.

7. Exported PDFs and CSV Files

Film Budgeting allows you to export budget information into files such as:

  • Production Budget PDF
  • Producer Summary PDF
  • CSV budget files

These files may contain information entered into your project, including financial amounts, requirements, vendors, notes, calculations, and other budget information.

The App generates these files locally.

When you choose to save or share an exported file, the file may be handled by the Android operating system or another application or service that you choose.

Any third-party application or service receiving the exported file will handle it according to its own privacy policy.

8. Contact Developer

Film Budgeting provides a Contact Developer feature.

If you use this feature, you may provide:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your support message

The App uses Android's email functionality to allow you to send the message through an email application available on your device.

The App does not operate a separate online support portal or cloud database for these messages.

If you send an email to us, the information contained in that email will be received by us through the email service used to deliver the message.

We may use information voluntarily provided in a support request to:

  • Respond to your question
  • Investigate an issue
  • Provide technical support
  • Improve the App
  • Address a bug or technical problem

We do not use support messages for unrelated purposes.

9. Passcode

Film Budgeting may provide an optional local passcode/security feature.

If you enable a passcode, the App uses local security mechanisms to protect access to protected App functionality.

The App does not transmit your passcode to our servers because the App does not provide a cloud account system for the budgeting service.

You are responsible for remembering and protecting your passcode.

10. Advertising and Google Mobile Ads

Film Budgeting may display advertisements using Google Mobile Ads (AdMob).

Because the App uses a third-party advertising SDK, Google may automatically collect and process certain information for purposes such as advertising, analytics, fraud prevention, and measurement, depending on the SDK configuration, user settings, consent, and applicable laws.

Information that Google Mobile Ads may collect or process can include information such as:

  • IP address
  • Advertising identifier
  • App or device identifiers
  • Interactions with the App and advertisements
  • Diagnostic information
  • Information related to advertising performance
  • Information used for fraud prevention and advertising

Google's own policies and documentation govern information processed through Google Mobile Ads.

We do not use AdMob to upload your Film Budgeting database to our own servers.

Advertising-related data processing is separate from the local storage of your budgeting information.

11. Advertising Consent

Where applicable, Film Budgeting may use Google's consent mechanisms for advertising and privacy choices.

Depending on your location and applicable legal requirements, you may be presented with choices regarding personalized advertising and related data processing.

Your advertising choices may affect the advertisements displayed in the App.

The App's core budgeting functionality does not depend on accepting personalized advertising.

12. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect

The core Film Budgeting service does not require us to collect or maintain:

  • A user account
  • An online password account
  • Film budgets on our servers
  • A cloud project database
  • Contact lists
  • Phone call history
  • SMS messages
  • Precise GPS location
  • Microphone recordings
  • Camera recordings
  • Health information
  • Financial account information
  • Payment card information

The App's normal budgeting functionality does not require these types of information.

Third-party SDKs, including advertising services, may process certain device or advertising-related information as described in this Privacy Policy and their respective policies.

13. Permissions and Device Access

Film Budgeting requests only permissions or system access necessary for the functionality implemented in the App.

Where possible, the App uses Android's system file/document picker to allow you to select locations for saving or opening files.

The App does not require continuous location tracking for its core budgeting functionality.

We do not intentionally collect your precise physical location for budget calculations.

14. How We Use Information

Information that you enter into Film Budgeting is used to provide the App's functionality, including:

  • Creating projects
  • Calculating budgets
  • Calculating contingency
  • Analyzing budget completeness
  • Identifying unpriced requirements
  • Reviewing potential budget areas
  • Managing budget versions
  • Creating budget scenarios
  • Comparing budgets
  • Maintaining local change history
  • Generating PDFs
  • Generating CSV files
  • Creating backups
  • Restoring backups
  • Providing support when you contact us

We do not intentionally use your locally stored film budget information for advertising.

15. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your film budget information.

We do not rent your film budget information to third parties.

The core App does not provide a cloud-sharing service for your budgets.

Information may be processed or shared in the following circumstances:

Google Mobile Ads

Advertising-related information may be collected or shared with Google and its advertising partners as part of the advertising services used by the App, subject to applicable settings, consent, and Google's policies.

Email Support

If you choose to contact us, information contained in your email may be transmitted through your chosen email provider.

Files You Choose to Share

If you explicitly export, save, or share a PDF, CSV, or backup file using another application or service, that third party will process the file according to its own policies.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required to do so by applicable law, legal process, or a valid governmental or regulatory request.

16. Data Security

We take reasonable measures appropriate to the design of the App to protect information handled by the App.

The core budgeting database is stored locally on your Android device.

The App uses Android's local storage and security mechanisms.

Where applicable, sensitive local security information such as passcode-related data is handled using protected local mechanisms rather than being stored as plain text.

Data transmitted by third-party services such as Google advertising services is subject to the security mechanisms and policies of those services.

However, no device, software, storage system, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You should use appropriate device security, including Android screen lock/security features, and protect exported files and backups.

17. Data Retention

Because Film Budgeting stores core budgeting information locally, your budget information generally remains on your device until you:

  • Delete a project
  • Delete relevant data through the App
  • Uninstall the App
  • Clear the App's data
  • Replace or reset your device
  • Restore or overwrite data through the App
  • Manually delete exported files or backups

We do not maintain a cloud database containing your Film Budgeting projects.

If you send us an email, we may retain the email and related correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to provide support, resolve issues, maintain appropriate records, or comply with legal obligations.

Advertising-related information may be retained by Google according to Google's applicable policies and practices.

18. Deletion of Data

Film Budgeting does not require an online user account.

Therefore, there is no Film Budgeting online account that you need to request us to delete.

You can delete your locally stored project and associated budgeting data using the App's available deletion functionality.

Deleting a project may remove its associated:

  • Budget items
  • Budget versions
  • Scenarios
  • Scenario items
  • Change history

You should create a backup before deleting a project if you may need the information later.

You are also responsible for deleting exported PDFs, CSV files, and backup files that you have saved elsewhere.

If you contact us by email, you may request deletion of personal information contained in your support correspondence where applicable.

Requests can be sent to:

chprasad146@gmail.com

We may retain information where retention is necessary to comply with applicable law or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

19. Children's Privacy

Film Budgeting is a professional budgeting tool intended for filmmakers and general audiences.

The App is not specifically directed toward children.

We do not knowingly request children to provide personal information for the core budgeting functionality.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us through a support email, please contact us at:

chprasad146@gmail.com

20. Third-Party Services

The App may use third-party services necessary for certain functionality, including advertising and email functionality.

These services may have their own privacy policies and terms.

Relevant services may include:

Google Mobile Ads / AdMob

Used to provide advertisements within the App.

Android System Services

Used for functions such as:

  • File selection

We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, security, or policies of third-party websites.
